Dr. Eydhah Almatrafi is a manager at Research Development and Innovation Authority (RDIA) and a distinguished sustainability advisor and solar desalination expert, with extensive experience in higher education and research and development. Currently an Associate Professor at King AbdulAziz University, he has been with the institution for over 14 years, holding various roles including Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department and Desalination Research Plant Manager. His research focuses on renewable energy and sustainability, with significant contributions to the development of innovative desalination technologies. Eydhah holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Florida, where he also contributed to clean energy research. His expertise in creative problem-solving, communication, and innovation management has made him a leader in his field, particularly in the study of solar thermal systems and organic Rankine cycles. Eydhah is bilingual in English and Arabic, and he continues to influence the academic and industrial sectors through his groundbreaking work in sustainable energy solutions.
