Biography
Vinodh Kumar is a climate researcher focused on regional and local climate conditions and future climate extremes in changing climates. He has expertise in land surface and WRF modeling. He earned his master's in Satellite Meteorology and Weather Informatics from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India. He worked in the Government of Andhra Pradesh, where he specialized in early warning systems and assessed the impacts of severe weather phenomena like heatwaves, thunder storms, floods, etc.. At the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune, he utilized high-resolution global and regional datasets to study extreme weather events in India. As a research fellow at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela, he concentrated on microclimate changes in the Himalayan region.
