Dean of Biological & Environmental sc. and Eng. Division , King Abdullah University of Science and Technology
Biography
Matthew McCabe is a Professor and Dean of the Biological and Environmental Science and Engineering (BESE) Division at KAUST. He is a leading researcher in hydrology and climate science, with a focus on water and food security, climate change impacts, and precision agriculture. His research integrates models and multi-scale observations to investigate water distribution, variability, and vegetation interactions across local to global scales. Using advanced technologies such as CubeSats, UAVs, and in-situ monitoring, his team enhances Earth system observation and develops innovative modeling and statistical approaches to better understand terrestrial processes and the water–food nexus for sustainable resource management.
