Biography

Zheng Cong is an environmental planner and PhD researcher in Environmental Science and Engineering at KAUST, affiliated with the Climate & Livability Initiative. His work focuses on flood resilience and climate adaptation in arid cities, linking urban form, landscape configuration, and multi‑hazard exposure to decision‑ready planning. He studies watershed‑scale flood susceptibility, green–gray infrastructure strategies, blue–green corridor preservation, and risk‑informed urban growth aligned with Saudi Vision 2030. His recent work examines Riyadh’s multi‑watershed flood risk, translating landscape configuration into actionable guidance for future resilience planning. He holds an MLA from Harvard GSD and a BLA from UIUC.
