Abhilash S. is the Director of the Advanced Centre for Atmospheric Radar Research at Cochin University of Science and Technology, India. He has developed an indigenous coupled multi-model ensemble prediction system for the Indian region and integrated Doppler Weather Radar observations into regional models to improve convective system forecasts. His work also led to improved Cyclogenesis Potential Parameters for predicting the genesis, track, and intensity of tropical cyclones over extended ranges. He has made significant contributions to operational forecasting systems for short- to extended-range high-impact weather, with innovative impact-based forecast products for stakeholder-oriented dissemination.
