José Dinis Silvestre is an Associate Professor with Habilitation at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal, and Vice-President of the IST-CERIS research unit. He holds a Civil Engineering degree (2002), MSc in Construction (2005), and a PhD in Civil Engineering with a focus on Life Cycle Assessment (2012), all from IST. With over 10 years of research experience, his work centers on sustainability in construction.
Dr. Silvestre has authored or co-authored over 80 ISI journal papers, 3 books, 60 reports, and 65 conference papers, focusing on sustainable construction solutions and the environmental performance of materials. He coordinates two international research projects and participates in multiple national and international collaborations on sustainability and energy efficiency in construction.
He is Associate Editor of Environmental Science and Pollution Research, sits on the editorial board of Sustainability, and reviews for 10 scientific journals. His research impact includes an H-index of 30 and over 2,500 citations.
