Prof. Xu is the Baofeng Chair Professor of Carbon Neutrality at Tsinghua University, where he advances research on sustainable systems and strategies to address pressing environmental challenges. He previously served as a Professor of Environment and Sustainability and of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Michigan, contributing to major developments in industrial ecology and carbon management. He is also the Editor in Chief of Resources, Conservation and Recycling, a leading international journal in the field.
