Safi Ullah

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW

Postdoctoral Fellow (May 2023 - Present)

Biography

Safi Ullah is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Climate Change and Urban Livability at KAUST, Saudi Arabia. He previously held a similar position at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. Dr. Ullah has also served as a Lecturer at the Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management at the University of Peshawar, Pakistan. He earned his Ph.D. in Climate System and Climate Change (Atmospheric Science) from Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology (NUIST), Nanjing, China. Additionally, he holds a Master’s degree in Disaster Risk Management from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan. His research focuses on climate change impact assessment, climate change modeling, disaster preparedness, and enhancing urban livability.

Research Interests

Safi’s research focuses on climate change risk assessment and projection, with a particular focus on hydroclimate extremes, such as droughts, floods, and heatwaves. By conducting multi-hazards vulnerability and risk assessments, Dr. Safi improves understanding of complex climate impacts and develops effective disaster resilience modeling. This research creates robust frameworks for managing climate-related risks and building resilient systems that adapt to and mitigate climate change effects.
