Biography

Junaid C. K. is a climate and ocean researcher with expertise in climate data analysis and ocean modelling. He is currently a visiting researcher at the Urban Lab at KAUST. He holds an M.Sc. in Oceanography from Cochin University of Science and Technology. His research focuses on climate data analysis with particular interest in climate variability and extreme events. His current work involves analyzing WRF simulations, CMIP6 climate projections, and reanalysis data. His broader research interests include air–sea interactions and ocean modelling, particularly hydrodynamic modelling.

Research Interests

Junaids' research focuses on understanding climate variability and extreme events through the analysis of climate models and reanalysis datasets. His work involves processing, validating, and analyzing WRF simulations to study regional climate variability and extreme events. His research interests also include air-sea interactions and climate change. He also has experience in ocean and coastal modelling, particularly hydrodynamic modelling using MIKE 21 and MIKE 3 FM, supported by field observations and model validation.
